In immigration cases involving asylum, U-Visa, T-Visa, VAWA, extreme hardship and credibility, a solid mental health evaluation can make all the difference. An evaluation can link the story an immigrant tells about their reasonable fears, history, abuse or even inconsistent narratives to their current symptoms, sometimes providing the only evidence a person has to back up their case. An evaluation can also lend support to arguments of extreme hardship a citizen may encounter if an immigrant is deported or if the citizen were to leave the country with the immigrant. As someone who has worked with trauma and attachment for over a decade, this is something I am passionate about and gives me a chance to prevent additional trauma, in addition to my work in healing trauma that has already occurred. As an attorney, I am also keenly aware of the legal issues that may come up with too many or too few details included in a report, as well as the issues that the immigration judge will be considering. If you or your client is in need of a mental health evaluation, please contact me via text or email. If you are in need of an attorney, let me know, and I can provide you with some excellent options.
